Birdy no 2 did not make it, either:o(
I did my best and will miss the little peeps he made.
The garden worms will be breathing a sigh of relief.
Nearly had a decapitated cat this morning. The mogs were trying out the run. All was well. They found their preferred perching posts, shady parts, etc. I happened to come out and see the back end of a cat sticking out from underneath the shed....which is attached to the run and is the ' shelter in from the bad weather' bit of the run.
Ringo. Ringo. Ringo.
I heard this mournful, panicky miaow...then more....... and realised that he was actually stuck! Visions of fire brigade to the rescue began to race in my head. Junior squealed and panicked, as usual. We (ahem...bro) got the little blighter out, eventually, by jemmying a pickaxe under the shed and lifting it enough to drag poor Rings out. Mog was black bright!!! He didn't want any fuss (due to embarassment, I suppose) and just wanted to lay on the cool laminate inside and recover his dignity..... and he's now 'resting' on my bed.
The animals are conked out with the heat a the mo...so it's nice and peaceful....until night time when it obviously becomes cooler and so is then the time to PARTY! lol
Doctor gave me some more medication for the rickety joints and said she could see that my fingers are started to deform...so I have to see a consultant at hospital. I really don't want any more drugs. Anyway, I found a book on arthritis at a local charity shop which explains that it could be allergy related (by Dr John Mansfield). So, I'm going to have a go at following an elimination diet to see if it eases off the RA. Apparently, it has a high success rate. Who knows, might be able to wear, and actually walk in, my nice, summery shoes again:o)
Back to watering courgette plants. We have 7. Can't give the buggers away so it looks like we'll be having courgette everything to eat! lol Any recipes welcome:o)..especially for preserving or freezing.

Not too fussy an eater
The weaker nestling didn't make it:o(
However, the stronger one is hanging on. He sleeps, peeps, eats and poops. Consumes five worms in each sitting!! We are fast running out of these bird delicacies and might have to raid neighbours' gardens for more supplies. Junior is fed up of digging, so the little chap might have to make do with cat food for tonight's supper:o) Arachnaphobic daughter has suggested, quite gleefully, that maybe we could give birdie some spiders to munch.....as in vary his diet.
I'm off to reasearch. What do little nestlings like to eat? lol

Tweeting
So, I am the poor sod who lives with twelve cats..and a cat pecked dog.
What is the worst thing that you could imagine, new mouth to feed-wise?
More cats...or, perish the thought, another dog? Nah!!
I cop for it, good and proper.........
New tablets from doc. Me, tired out and sleepy, so had a quick nap. Then, I am called into the garden room by Junior. Waking me up mid sleep is a no no. Bad temper ensues, and all that. Seems that Popeye had caught his claw and Junior couldn't sort him as she was outside and Pop inside. So, I unhooked him. Then I got a load of abuse about 'my' washing!!!
I seem to wash all the time. Bedding gets changed daily, due to peri menopausal me and large cat population makes more work anyway. It makes sense to keep washing....keeping things clean.
Anyway, the washing gets pegged out on one of those whirly gig type of contraptions. No washing line here...at the mo. Whirly gig, adorned with washing..nearly dried...was, apparently, in the way of final construction of the pesky cat run. So, they, Junior and Bro, collapsed down the contraption, causing washing to trail on the ground! Arghhhhh, bloody, arghhhhh!!!
I was not best pleased. Packed my washing and went inside. mutter, mutter....
Was hoovering away..getting rid of bad temper, when I could hear Bro on the stairs, asking me if I was any good at first aid?
In they come....Bro and Junior, with an empty mushroom carton box containing two little hatchling birds. Birds!!! in this house!!!! Nooooooooooooooo
Apparently, bro heard a tweet and found the pair under the garden bench.
They are REALLY young....like bald as a coot young. So, takes them to RSPB neighbour. She checks them and advises that they have been well looked after to press, crops are full, tummies full, no parasites. Does not know what they are. They are too young to identify. The few feathers that have sprouted are blue and they have tufts on their, up to press, bald heads:o) Neighbour thinks that maybe the local crows had them and somehow dropped them. Then, I assume that mother's cat, Jimmy, brought them to the garden bench and was copped by bro before he could consume his bounty!
I have to feed them cat food.....every two hours!!! I have made paper tweezers so as to feed them safely without risk of prodding their throats to death. I tap on the side of the mushroom box and 'choo choo' at them and....bingo....mouths open for food:o)
I have done two feeds and am pooped.
The mogs have been evicted from my room as I am on feeding duty, obviously, and are currently sulking....giving bro havoc downstairs (he is a sofa man!) lol
Would be cool if I could raise these babies and set them free.......sigh.....
Tomorrow, if they survive, we are on a worm hunt. Chop up and feed to babies. Nice.

The End is Nigh
We nearly have an 'up and running' cat run. Yay! The mogs can't wait. I can tell. They sit and watch, patiently, while bro drills and hammers wood and wire into place. He's been working, tirelessly....as much as a near OAP can.....says she....giggling. He's provided all the materials, too. I am really lucky to have such a bro.
We have this mock insult thing going......all to do with age, of course... ribbing each other. I am the bag woman and he is the bloke from UP. Today, he DID resemble that bloke. On the other hand, I ALWAYS look like a bag woman! (dress like a bag woman and you attract zero attention romantically...or lust-wise- therefore avoiding superficial, crap relationships. If someone can see past the bag woman then..who knows!! But, me...I am all out of faith in the romance department. Does not exist, this mutual true love thing. It was not always so, but nowadays I am Cupid's biggest challenge) lol
So, back to bro.. did my best and fed him lots of food that meat eaters like...like steak pie with all the trimmings for tea, bacon, spinach and goats cheese sarnis for dinner, etc. Tomorrow morning, Junior will, no doubt, present him with a fruit smoothie.
I have piccies to post but Mother has my camera. She is 'evidence gathering'.
Son no 1 has a procedure to endure this week. Mum here will hold his hand. I hope it goes ok.
Junior has a bad cold and has kindly passed it onto me and bro. Bless. When she feels ill it means a sleepover in my bed, where she obviously feels safe. So, here she is...fast asleep on PILES of pillows...so she won't cough!! Faithfull little Honeypot is at her side, curled up. so as to not take up too much space and disturb her little mistress. Little protecter. Me....the only pillow left is a flat as a fart one. Down side of having a wrought iron bed frame. Ho hum.

Ow!!
'So.....there's me thinking that no more of life's crap can be thrown at me.
I am of 'that age' where one could describe me as 'getting on a bit. Son no 1 just says I am an old git!
So, peri-menopause time comes with lots of lovelies....like heavy 'that time of the months', etc. And, in my case, crap laptops. The rickety joints are really painful of a morning. I can eventually stand up, but getting going takes a bit of time.
So, wakes up this morning. Need loo. This, of course, no longer entails the 10 second sprint to the lav. More like a ten minute hobble....courtesy of those darned rickety joints.
So, I eventually 'land' in the bathroom and......'Arghhhhh'.....Always Ultra type pad had, somehow, reversed itself during the night so sticky side was on me!.. Bugger. The old pubes were being held to ransom!!! So, being desperate and all that, I was brave and spent ten minutes trying to remove the thing.
Eventually, the deed was done.
I am now the proud owner of a Brazilian gone wrong!!
To cap it all, the powers that be have dictated that I am not dead enough to be awarded disability living allowance. So, no help with mobility and making life easier. So much for paying taxes for decades, Thank you to the twat who decided that. With pleasure. you can have my condition...and see how you like it!!

Poo
Pesky black cloud!!
Son no 1 has not been well. Hospital jobby. Seems he has internal bleeding. We do not know why but he's suffered feeling faint, blurred vision, stomach cramps amongst other not so nice things. Lots of tests and procedures, some of which are not really that pleasant, are underway. So, I am a tad worried. He's too young for this. He says he feels ok...ish.... He only went to the docs 'cos I nagged him when he told me what symptoms he had and what was coming out of his bottom! Doctor wanted to send him straight to A & E via ambulance there and then, but Son no 2 took him. They kept him in overnight.
He's due to go abroad on holiday soon and has been looking forward to it for AGES. I ask him not to go. What if he feels crap over there? How will he get back if the volcano and ash cloud problems escalate again...and then the probable flight delays..... plus foreign food, water might affect his stomach, etc.
He tells me that one doc said it was ok to go and that I worry too much!
Damn right. My job, innit?

Crap times
Moaning Minnie here.
I am depressed!!
Crap probs with family, life and all that.
Family of family and friends no longer of this earth. 'Tis sad.
Plus.......Mother....doing my head in. Less said the better. But, poor thing, has been strung up by red tape!! Her heart has been broken because of it.
Laptop keeps blowing up. Is no joke. No internet access is like being in solitary. Bring back the Mac!!!
But....Junior...ever resilient.....piano lessons in the offing.:o)) She is turning into a little Vivien Westwood, fashion wise. Plus, we have discovered that one of our neighbours is a florist by profession and has offered to help her learn the trade, which is nice:o) Soon, we will have a garden full of more of Junior's beloved flowers, as our florist friend is giving us LOADS of cuttings. Yay:o)
Me.......managed to sprout 60 tomato plantlings AND 12 green bean sproutlings, too!!!
Came back one day to find green bean plantlings 'beheaded' and the mogs looking very 'smug'. Little sods!!!! THEN....spotted Henry having a pee in my tomato nursery!!!....sigh....
I am not amused....It all has to start....again!!! I did wonder, though, what I was going to do with 60 tomato plants.
To date, we have courgette plantlings only. The mogs' run is tantalisingly near to completion. Then they can 'go out and feel the fresh air and sunshine on their backs' and not get hurt by some of the nasties about or bother the bird population, some of whom have decided to nest in our hedging!! Just need some heavy duty mesh for the run.
Financially, we are as poor as church mice 'cos of my rickety joints. I'm entitled to help with housing and council tax. But, we are unfortunate enough to live in an area where the council assumes everyone is on the fiddle. Every obstacle they can muster to make it more difficult or humiliating to claim seems to come my way.
Now..I have a landlady who is lovely....really caring. She lets me rent the house, decorate as I wish, keep pets!! Council reckons that we do not have a 'proper landlord/tenant relationship...we get on too well...so we MUST be on a fiddle. So...this council asks for stuff...we give it...It is never enough. There is always another obstacle put in our path. Landlady is getting fedup of this and is threatening to give us notice to go. She can get a professional tenant in...no hassle. Can't blame her. The individuals at the council...... Can't print what I think of them. They don't get that they work for US!!!!. Sigh.....
I'm so peed off and dissapointed in the system. I spent nearly 30 odd years working and paying taxes and NI. My rickety joints have something to answer for!! lol Maybe the 'who you know' thing is right. In which case, I should get out and 'brown nose' a bit more.
I hope this new government of ours works....properly.....in the spirit of all that is good and actually listen to us. Not like the last lot. At least that dreadful Ed bloke has gone!!! T*** that he was. Can you imagine him ever being the PM of this land? Yuk!!! Well, actually, I can and what a scary thought!!! Ughhhhhhhh!
No wonder people chuck themselves off bridges!!
Apologies to SPC person. Totally got waylaid with the above. 'Tis on its way. x
