Graduation

Bro went to my niece's graduation today:o) He is one proud dad.

She did Sports Science and Physics at uni and will be tutoring Junior soon:o) Plus, niece is a javelin champion...national level....so Junior might be getting some training in that department, too! Niece is the second one in our family to gain a degree, after great nephew...who did sports science...and he cannot find a job, so is applying for an apprenticeship in plumbing!!
We babysat bro's dog....more howling, etc. lol Cilla is still behind bars......chest level dog gate has been fitted to kitchen doorway....so prevent any little sortees!!
Amidst all the racket, we baked. All vegan.... chocolate brownies, carrot cake....really delish. And made a veg and barley soup....which cured Junior's summer cold:o) Vegan baking is a tad different. Dry ingredients are added to wet ingredients. To bind your ingredients, you can use ground flaxseed, or applesauce, or soy yoghurt, white wine vinegar, oil, etc....no need for eggs!
The brownies came out of the oven at 10.30pm and by 4pm next day there was ONE piece left. Maybe I can take a piccie before it is consumed? lol
Junior is sparko. Fast asleep with her Guardians.. Tonight they are...Henry VIII at her side and faithfull Megan at her feetLo) She has three quarters of the bed...I have the other bit. (Bro is staying in her room, you see.) As I said, Junior has three quarters of the bed. She also seems to have ended up with three quarters of the covers, too!! Hmppphhhh!!

Poo

Pesky black cloud!!

Son no 1 has not been well. Hospital jobby. Seems he has internal bleeding. We do not know why but he's suffered feeling faint, blurred vision, stomach cramps amongst other not so nice things. Lots of tests and procedures, some of which are not really that pleasant, are underway. So, I am a tad worried. He's too young for this. He says he feels ok...ish.... He only went to the docs 'cos I nagged him when he told me what symptoms he had and what was coming out of his bottom! Doctor wanted to send him straight to A & E via ambulance there and then, but Son no 2 took him. They kept him in overnight.

He's due to go abroad on holiday soon and has been looking forward to it for AGES. I ask him not to go. What if he feels crap over there? How will he get back if the volcano and ash cloud problems escalate again...and then the probable flight delays..... plus foreign food, water might affect his stomach, etc.

He tells me that one doc said it was ok to go and that I worry too much!

Damn right. My job, innit?

New Life

Well, still cannot get to the back of the garage!!!

What does this signify? Bikes....can't get to them....supposed new health regime....We are still unfit....arghhhhh!!

So, to counter this, we're digging for England on the allotment! Horray!!!! (Anyway, we need the food!!!) lol

Planted a whole FOUR courgette plantlings today. They need LOADS AND LOADS of space..little tinkers....so Min n Junior did a load of digging and now walk like a pair of old ladies:o)). (need to invest in some relaxing bath salts!) We didn't bring with us any old pop bottles to put over our little plantlings to protect them (BAD MUMMIES!!) so hope the nice birdies and creatures leave them alone. As luck would have it, all our courgette and aubergine seeds have gone forth and sprouted, so we have way too many...more beds need to be dug to accommodate some of these. The rest we shall have to freecycle. Good job we like ratatouille:o)

Ginger Nut continues to be the clingly little thing she is... Junior will kill me for this!!!  But.. don't they just look so sweet when they're asleep? Dog not normally allowed on the sofa, by the way:o) She's a bit of a creeper, if you know what I mean?

.

Learning Japanese is proving to be difficult. So, we are embarking on the "let's play games to learn" front and hoping that this will help the penny (or yen) drop. On the 'Trying out Japanese food front'...what fun we shall have with that!!! lol

Grand daughter of Min is due soon. Very soon.:o)

Offspring of Olive are due soon, too!!!:o))

Busy, busy, busy here:o)

Waiting to be potted up. Love the sunny colour.

Too many cookbooks...and fave 'bits'..wooden mog, knitted teddy, crystals and pottery dragon...and dust.  Ooops!

Morning Glory....and boy have they sprouted!! They're almost 'alive'..and lean towards the window. Turn them around to straighten up and half an hour later they're leaning back towards the window. Almost triffid-like!!
